Were you affected by traffic delays to Dover?
Over the weekend of 22nd to 24th July 2016 there were significant traffic delays when attempting to get to Dover, due to the increased security checks. We understand how frustrating this experience would have been, and with that in mind, feel it would be appropriate to review our travel delay and abandonment guidelines in view of these extraordinary circumstances.
Travel Delay or Abandonment
Providing this is a benefit usually available under the policy we are happy to offer benefit for travel delay, or alternatively trip abandonment, after a 12 hour delay for departures from Dover only. This applies to trips which began over the weekend of Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th July inclusive.
If this benefit is not usually available under the policy in question this scenario would not apply.
Insurance “shifting”
If you are offered an alternative destination and / or dates from your travel agent, we are pleased to advise that we will shift your insurance policy to fit the new trip without any administration charges.
